Willie J. Alexander is president of W.J. Alexander & Associates, P.C., a full-service employee benefits consulting and insurance brokerage firm he founded in 1980 in Houston Texas. Willie first came to prominence as a First Team All-American and All-Conference football player at Alcorn State University where he graduated in 1971 with a degree in Business Administration. From there he went on to become a starting defensive back for the National Football League’s Houston Oilers from 1971 to 1980. In 1985 he earned a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
Willie is a highly respected and successful businessman and community leader in Houston, Texas. While contrubuting to Houston’s business growth, he also volunteers countless hours to charitable and civic organizations. He serves on the boards of Amegy Bank of Texas, Texas Children’s Hospital, Greater Houston Partnershiop and Pro-Vision Charter School.
Willie and his wife of 42 years, Carolyn have two children. Their son is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and South Texas College of Law. Their daughter is a graduate of Nortwestern University and Vanderbilt Law School. Willie also has an older son, LeCory Harvest. In 2010, Willie was honored as one of Houston’s Outstanding Father’s by the Holman Street Baptist Church.
Willie is considered a role model by business associates, former teammates and coaches, and by all those who hope to make Houston a better place to live. In 2007, he published his first book entitled, Entering The Promised Land.
